The Fifth Of November

I am hiding in my cat bed behind the armchair with my paws over my ears. There are so many bangs and explosions going on outside, it sounds like World War 3!

From our upstairs windows we can see the great big firework display at the Town Hall without having to pay for it. My humans didn't go out to watch the fireworks this year because it's cold and raining. Yes, raining. Again. But us cats aren't very interested in fireworks anyway.
Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
Gunpowder, Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, t'was his intent
To blow up King and Parliament.
Three-score barrels of powder below
To prove old England's overthrow;
By God's providence he was catch'd
With a dark lantern and burning match.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, let the bells ring.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, God save the King!

Comments:
Oh, no, so much noise. And in the rain. Humans are strange, aren't they?

Sunny hides when the scary boomers happen, too. I think that's what all smart, handsome mencat do ;-)

Poor Eric! I hope you get some treats to help you recover.
Mum says she would love to experience Bonfire Night. Grandma taught that same poem when she was a little girl.

Poor Eric. Mom thought maybe it was Britons being happy that America voted in Obama!

Yes, yes, it's raining here today
And fireworks, well, that don't give me any scare!

Ah Happy Guy Fawkes Day. A lovely British Holiday up there with the 4th... sigh. Will they ever give up their fireworks?!

I feel your pain Eric. It sounds like a war zone here! We hate fireworks grrr!

Glad we don't hafta cover our earz! *purrs, Redfurd*

Oh man, Fat Eric, that sucks! I don't understand why Beans want to make loud hurty noises to celebrate things.
Your buddy, Jimmy Joe

Why do they have to make all that noise??!?

Fortunately we can't hear the big boomers over here when they shoot them off on the 4th of July. Our windows are double paned. We hope you are safe from all the noise.

I do not like Thunder Boomies or fireworks and so I hide under Grampy's chair - until they are over for at least half an hour! -Gandalf

Happy 5th of November! I hate fireworks, I hide behind the bathroom door.

Ironic way of celebrating a plot to blow up Parliament :)
Hope the fireworks didn't scare you too much.

We figure Guy Fawkes would fall under the home grown terrorist title ~The Fluffy TRibe

Oh yes, I forgot it was Guy Fawkes day. I hope you had a great day and the fireworks didn't make you too crazy.

When are these silly humans going to learn that they don't need to blow things up and distrurb the kitties to celebrate...stoopid hoomans. Just haf a nice quiet celebration for da kitties sake.

Ooh, we hate those bangy fireworks. It happened a few months ago here...

It's always nice to meet another licker Eric. I mostly lick cats, except for night time when I lick my Mum's hands and face whilst holding her down with my big fat paw. I really enjoy cleaning out my sister Angel's ears too. Yum!
