Marmite Goes Newt-Hunting

HELLO, MARMITE FANS! DID YOU MISS ME? DID YOU THINK I HAD NOT HAD ENOUGH BLOGJACKING TIME LATELY??? WELL, TODAY I GET MY CHANCE! THE FAT GINGER CAT HAS BEEN GROUNDED FROM BLOGGING AFTER HE YAKKED UP GRASS (YES THE SAME GRASS HE WAS NOMMING IN THE PREVIOUS POST) - ANYWAY, HE YAKKED UP GRASS ON THE CARPET AND ON THE RUG AND EVEN ON THE BOOK HIS MUM WAS READING! HEH HEH HEH!

SO I EXPECT YOU ARE WONDERING WHAT I HAVE BEEN DOING LATELY, EXCEPT FOR NOMMING TEMPTATIONS? I HAVE GOT A NEW HOBBY! YOU SEE, IN THE POND IN THE FAT GINGER CAT'S GARDEN THERE ARE ALL THESE LITTLE NEWTY THINGS THAT LOOK LIKE THIS...
AND I REALLY REALLY WANT TO CATCH A NEWTY THING SO I HAVE BEEN SPENDING HOURS TRYING. FIRST I GET UP ON THE ROCKERY AND LURK WHERE THE NEWTY THINGS CAN'T SEE ME. THEN I CREEP DOWN TOWARDS THE WATER VERY SLOWLY SO THEY WON'T HEAR ME COMING!
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO TEACH MY BFF SPIKE HOW TO DO THIS BUT HE IS SCARED THE NEWTY THINGS WILL ATTACK HIM. SPIKE IS A BIT OF A WUSS SOMETIMES!
THEN I SIT VERY STILL AND WAIT TILL I SEE A LITTLE NEWTY THING SWIMMING PAST.
WHEN I SEE ONE I TRY TO POUNCE ON IT BUT SOMEHOW THE NEWTY THINGS ALWAYS MANAGE TO GET AWAY AND I KEEP ENDING UP WITH A WET PAW. DON'T WORRY THOUGH, I AM NOT GIVING UP UNTIL I CATCH ONE!

THE FAT GINGER CAT'S MUM DOES NOT LIKE ME TRYING TO CATCH THE NEWTY THINGS. SHE THINKS I AM MAKING THEM FEEL STRESSED! SO I TRY TO DO MY NEWT-FISHING WHEN SHE IS NOT LOOKING...

BUT SOMETIMES SHE CATCHES US IN THE ACT!

Comments:
Hi Marmite,
That does look like it might be fun. My mom said she knew a Newt named Issac once. A friends children thought it was an oh-so-clever name.

I suspect that Newts don't taste like chicken. But they would be awfully fun to try and catch. But Eric's mom is right, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to stress them out too much. Happy hunting anyway :)

Oh what fun!

Newt hunting looks like lots of fun! We hope you catch one of them!

That looks like fun. Maybe we could come and have a go.
By the way Marmite, we think we have told you before, it's not polite to call our friend Eric 'The Fat Ginger Cat'.

Wow. You are a very good hunter!

Dear Marmite, it is not nice of you to hunt the newts after Eric lets you come into his garden and his mother feeds you temptations.

Roxy

PS Eric is not fat. He is floofy. And beautifully floofy.

Oh Marmite, I hope you catch a newt soon.

Newt hunting does sound like fun but it is not nice to do. It's not nice to call Eric names either. He is floofy and gorgeous as Roxy stated.

Hi Marmite, Good to hear from you. Looks like a very nice pastime fishing for newts. What are you going to do when you catch one? They don't look super tasty...

:-) Cliff and Olivia

What do you plan to do with one once you catch it?! Maybe Eric would accept it as a peace offering.

Happy newt hunting and say hello to Eric for me - yakking up grass is one of my favourite pass-times. FAZ

Looks like fun, what a lovely place to be. Poor Eric, he's not fat just cuddly.

Hugs GJ x

Mum has a lovely pond!
We can definitely see how stalking the newty things would be great fun!!
Hope Eric is feeling better very soon. We hope mum isn't too mad at him, he can't help it.

Oh poor Fat Eric - it's not fair being grounded for yacking up grass - it's what kitty's do!

The pond looks very exciting - and we'd like to catch a newt too!

Tee hee Marmite you is a very funny pussycat ! We likes it !
Love & purrs from Mr Woo xx

Eric:
No kitten pictures. They have proven to be quite elusive, diving behind stuff on the porch and behind a loose wall panel whenever they hear the slightest noise. Judy said there were three, but now she has seen 4. Mom thought there were only 2!! Momma kitty spends more time at our house than she does with her kittens.

Marmite, you seem like a very tricksy fellow. I cannot believe you blogjack my friend, Eric's, blog. I came here looking for him, and all I found was you. How can we even trust he has been grounded?!

Marmite, I hope you can one of those newty things soon! You look like a very skilled hunter :-)
